Abigail Silva, PhD, MPH
Dr. Silva joined CINCCH as a post-doctoral research fellow in order to improve her understanding of health care delivery in 2013. She has over ten years of experience in disparities and evaluation research. As a trained cancer epidemiologist her research interests are in cancer care access and outcomes. At the Center, Dr. Silva is currently a collaborator on a project funded by the VA Spark-Seed-Spread Innovation Investment Program to design My ChemoCalendar, a tool that helps patients learn how to safely self-administer their oral anticancer drugs. She is also a collaborator on a project that is examining the impact of the Affordable Care Act on health care coverage, access, and care coordination among Veterans. In addition, she is a co-investigator on a study that is evaluating the potential value and limitations of a newly available data source for individual-level socioeconomic status.
