Cara Ray, PhD, MA
Dr. Ray completed her master’s degree in Applied Social Psychology in 2016 and her doctorate in Social Psychology in 2022, both at Loyola University Chicago. She has worked at the CINCCH since 2017, initially as a project manager, when she was primarily involved with projects examining specialty care (e.g., bone health management, antimicrobial stewardship) for Veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders. Since then, she has become involved with a wider variety of projects related to preventing infection and antimicrobial resistance. Her doctoral dissertation explored the role of moral intuitions in beliefs regarding COVID-19 vaccination and related persuasive messaging. As of 2022, Dr. Ray is a Research Health Scientist. In summer 2023, she received funding as PI for a pilot project to collect preliminary data on the perceived usability and usefulness of alert systems in VHA multidrug-resistant organism tracking, which she hopes to turn into a larger Career Development Award in upcoming years.
