Kevin Stroupe, PhD
Dr. Stroupe is the Director of CINCCH at Hines VA. He joined the Health Services Research and Development Program at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in 1999. In addition, he is a Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health, Loyola University Chicago, Maywood, IL. Dr. Stroupe received his B.S. in Mathematical Sciences (Computure Science concentration) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989 and his Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University - Bloomington in 1998.
Dr. Stroupe’s research interests include the health economics of chronic illness, cost-effectiveness of healthcare treatments, and healthcare policy. He has led or participated in VA and NIH-funded projects to examine the cost-effectiveness of healthcare treatments and health policy. He has examined the cost-effectiveness of interventions for patients with health failure, pharmacy-based patient-management interventions for patients with heart failure and hypertension, and dialysis care options for patients with end stage renal disease. Additionally, he has investigated healthcare utilization and costs for Veterans with disabilities, and heh as examined the impact of changes in health insurance coverage, including prescription drug coverage, on healthcare use across systems of care.
